4 Ways To Get Started with Self-Care

I am asked this question in almost every single interview I give, “If I’ve been neglecting myself lately, what are some easy ways I can get started with self-care now?”

My answer is always the same.

If you have somehow slid to the bottom of your priority list and are not feeling so great, start with these 4 simple acts of self-love and self-care care:


1. Drink more water.

If need be, head over to Amazon - they have amazing fun water bottles to encourage more water drinking throughout your day. 75% of Americans are walking around chronically dehydrated.


2. Walk. Walk, and then walk some more. 

Slowly. To the pharmacy, to your friend’s house, to the 7-Eleven. Walk 20 minutes daily if you can in full spectrum light. It’s wonderful for you. Harvard Medical School says so too.


3. Deep breaths.

The benefits of deep diaphragmatic breathing and its ability to decrease stress and improve feelings of well-being is enormous. But remember - don’t only deep breathe when you’re stressed. Keep consistent so that when stress comes on, you’ll be more apt to handle it calmly. Your body will know and understand how to respond.


4. Plant therapy and herbal healing for mood.
