What are Essential Oils?

Essential oils are plant extracts. They are made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves, seeds, roots, stems, bark, wood, or fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance. It can take several pounds of a plant to produce a single bottle of essential oil.

What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. When inhaled (in a diffuser for example), the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain.

Are Bliss Essential oils 100% pure therapeutic grade?

Yes. Quality oils is of the utmost importance to us. All of Bliss Essential oils are 100% pure therapeutic grade, contain no synthetics or fillers, pesticide-free, 3rd-party lab tested and certified, and cruelty-free. Bliss Essential oils are of the highest quality.

What makes Bliss Essential different than the other well-known essential oil brands?

Thanks for asking such a great question! We won’t comment on anyone else’s oils (it’s not our style to discuss other brands) but our GC/MS results (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry Results) are of the highest and purest quality on the market. Each oil goes through extreme labor-intensive testing to ensure that when you get your bottle of bliss, that you have received only the highest quality, the purest, and the safest essential oils on the market. That we can assure and prove to you - it's our promise and guarantee. Our quality is honestly unmatched.

Are Bliss Essential oils organic?

Most of our oils are organic, but to purchase the organic oil certification is very expensive for farmers. During the distillation process, impurities are separated from the oil. We support farmers who provide the absolute highest quality oils, but also in areas that need our support to continue to keep the economy stable.

How long should I use my diffuser with Bliss Essential oils?

We recommend 20-30 minute intervals with your diffuser. You can use your diffuser before bed, but we don’t recommend leaving it on all night (the oil blends are 100% safe to use, we just don’t recommend leaving anything electrical on all night for safety purposes).

How often and how do I clean my diffuser?

Always be sure to clean your new diffuser out well with warm water and some dish soap (and let it dry well) before using it for the first time.

Ideally, your diffuser should also be wiped down and cleaned after each use. First, turn off and unplug your diffuser. Next dip a Q-Tip or a cotton ball in some rubbing alcohol and clean all areas of the diffuser. Dry well. Then you’re ready to diffuse Bliss again!

Our favorite carrier oil to dilute with Bliss Essential is fractionated coconut oil.

Quick Dilution Guide/Ratios:

1% Dilution: 1 drop of oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil. For: elderly, immunocompromised, or those who are very sensitive to smells.

2% Dilution: 2 drops of oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil. For: healthy adults

3% Dilution: 3 drops of oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil. For: acute use, short term and small area.

How do I store my Bliss Essential oils?

Your essential oils need to be stored in a cool dark place away from heat and light and tightly capped. Make sure to close your bottles well! The ideal temperature is 35-40 degrees. Oxidation (caused by gradual exposure to oxygen if not capped properly) will cause the freshness of your oils to plummet and their therapeutic potency to diminish.

How and where are Bliss Essential oils made?

All Bliss Essential oils are cold-pressed and/or steam distilled. They are processed using state of the art systems and techniques. Bliss Essential is made from plants sourced from the highest quality plants around the world (over 10 countries)!These plants are sustainably harvested and grown and are brought to the United States where we 3rd-party quality-test them before bottling them.

Bliss Essential is proudly and rigorously 3rd party-laboratory tested in the United States and bottled in Quebec, Canada.

I love air fresheners and scented candles, are essential oils better?

If you're looking to lower daily toxins in your home, essential oils are truly a wonderful place to start. Many air fresheners and beautifully scented candles contain many toxins that are not healthy for you and your family. But, you don't have to give up a yummy smelling home. Diffusing Bliss Essential blends into the air create a wonderful aroma and are all 100% chemical-free! You can even use Immunity Army to help clean your surfaces of germs and bacteria!

We offer free shipping on all orders over $100 in Canada and the US! Shipping to the UK is a $45 CAD flat fee.

What is your return policy?

Return your unopened bottles within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Customer covers shipping costs for returns.

Bliss Essential does not offer exchanges. Items should be returned (unopened) and a new order submitted instead.

How can I use Bliss Essential Oils

DIFFUSE: Add 6 to 8 drops into your diffuser
TOPICAL: Dilute with a carrier oil to minimize sensitivity and apply 1 to 2 drops to desired area. Or add 1 to 2 drops into your favorite cream for moisturizing benefits (don’t put on open wound). Or put 1 drop on your wrist and/or neck as a perfume (once you've tested for sensitivity see below)
INHALE: Open the cap and smell the oils right from the bottle. You can also add 1 drop into your palms and rub them together and bring them to cup your nose and breathe in the aroma
RELAXING BATH: Dilute with a carrier oil and add 6 to 8 drops to your bath for a tub soak
PILLOW AND ROOM SPRAY: Add a few drops to aloe vera water and use as pillow or room spray

Test for skin sensitivity first: Apply 1 drop to areas such as elbows, armpits, and the sole of the feet to test out skin sensitivity.

Are Bliss blends safe to diffuse around my pets?

Certain essential oils have been questionable to diffuse near pets, but the the amount of those oils in each blend is very small. Our lead scientist has pets and diffuses the blends around them, but we recommend speaking to your veterinarian first before diffusing the blends into the air. If you decide to diffuse the oils after speaking with your vet, here are some tips to diffuse more safely around your pet: only use 1-3 drops in a water-based diffuser, diffuse for a short time (10-15 mins max), make sure your pet cannot knock over the diffuser, and diffuse in an open space where your pet can come and go. Do not apply essential oils topically to your pets

I am pregnant, can I use Bliss Essential?

We don't see any contraindications for pregnant women to diffuse Bliss Essential oils for shorter intervals. In fact, many women love using essential oils during pregnancy especially for calm and sleep. We advise against using essential oils orally, and if used topically, dilute in a carrier oil. We suggest that you consult with your doctor before using essential oils while pregnant.
